Kids Creative Workshop: Children of Bamiyan Valley
Sat 22 Aug 2-4pmFree, but please book.If you had a penpal in Afghanistan, what might they be telling you right now? Join 100 Story Building and poet Zakia Baig as we think on what life is like for children in a very different part of the world. Zakia will share her story and take you on a journey to the Bamiyan Valley, where we'll use all our senses and the art of poetry to explore the stories of children we meet there. You can read Zakia's poem here. Zakia Baig arrived Australia in 2006 as an overseas student, and one among the thousands of Hazaras who left their homes to escape persecution in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
