At Melbourne Writers Festival

Next week, we're taking one of our 100 stories across the river to the Melbourne Writers Festival. Possibly Level 46, but Level 93 has also expressed interest. You may think building levels are stationary, but you gotta be quick to catch us at this year's festival. Co-founder and CEO Lachlann Carter will be making endless comics in the MWF Schools Program, and we'll be hosting events with a couple of our favourite authors (including Andy Griffiths!).We're most excited about Lach's event with American author, editor, publisher and general all-round amazing person Dave Eggers. Eggers is the co-founder of 826 Valencia, a writing centre in San Francisco that was the inspiration behind 100 Story Building. Lach and Dave will be in conversation with host Alicia Sometimes. And we can't wait to showcase the amazing creations of students from Furlong Park School for the Deaf and Victorian College for the Deaf. We’ve been working with them on the Our Stories, Our Way project, which explores their experience of being a young, deaf person through storytelling and writing. Now, they’re ready to perform their stories – there’ll be puppets, acting, dancing, singing – what more could you want?100 Story Building ambassadors Sally Rippin and Alice Pung will also be out and about at the festival. We highly recommend you check out their sessions!
