School holidays are the best. You can eat lunch whenever you want and wear all your favorite t-shirts at the same time. It’s also when 100 Story Building host some seriously fun “workshops”.I say “workshops” like I’m quoting someone else saying “workshops” because they are not your average workshops. You won’t be honing your public speaking skills, knitting tea cosies or mastering professional development. At a 100 Story “workshop” you’re more likely to develop an alternate universe than a professional. One of our super talented and creative “workshop” participates, Neo, came along to Comic BOOM! a workshop that Neo fittingly describes as “Funny and weird….you make up stories about stupid stuff.” His favourite bit was, of course, making the comics. Neo, aged 8, now owns and runs his own comic book production company*.

100 Stories Down is another one of these “workshops”. We put on our detective hats and delve deep down to discover what is going on underneath that mysterious trapdoor than leads to the 99 levels below. But detectives need more than just hats. Detectives need clues. A blob of blue tack from level 44, a camera from level 62 or a wombat skull from level 9.And what sort of mysteries did the detectives uncover with these clues? Using their powers of deduction the detectives deduced a fearsome Bum-a-saurus running rampage across many levels, with enough cheek (ha!) to threaten, with its potent Bum-a-saurus gas, everything from ancient civilisations to entire forests of skeletal Australian animals roaming free.

There were other holiday workshops too, Zombiealien Apocalypse (That’s right, Zombies AND Aliens AND an Apocalypse) and Framed. I’d tell you about them but I’m worried your head might explore from too much holiday “workshop” fun.Book yourself a workshop in the June/July holidays here!
