Join our Board and help shape the next chapter of 100 Story Building!

We are seeking for Non-Executive Directors (Volunteer) to join our board.

We would like to hear from individuals who share our vision, values, and with either of following professional experiences to join our Board and guide the organisation through an exciting and critical phase of growth:

● Finance and accounting

● Legal, governance and risk

● Education leadership, education policy or child centered organisations

● Fundraising (particularly individual donor development)

● Media, journalism or public relations

● Social enterprise or for purpose business models

Following the completion of recruitment, the board will seek to appoint a new Treasurer, this will involve additional responsibilities to being a non-executive director.

About the Board

The Board works closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and plays a key role in the governance and strategic direction of the organisation, serving as the guardian of 100 Story Building’s mission and values while ensuring compliance and effective risk management.

Responsibilities of a non-executive director are outlined below:

● Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the CEO and provide hands-on support if needed

● Ensure robust financial management and oversight of organisational performance

● Strengthen governance and maintain compliance with all relevant law and regulations

● Support programs through active involvement in fundraising and ambassadorship

● Foster a culture of collaboration, equity, and shared leadership.

● Support internal capacity-building in areas of expertise

● Maintain consistent attendance and active engagement at all virtual Board meetings.

● Engage in a timely and responsive manner with online communications

● Participation on subcommittees and working groups

About You

● A commitment to the organisation’s mission, values and impact in community

● Professional expertise in one of the areas identified above

● Experience in non-profit governance or compliance

● A basic understanding of accounting and finance concepts

● Networks useful to the development and growth of 100 SB

About the Commitment

● A minimum 3 year term

● On average 6-8 hours per month, including meetings and important events

● Active participation on subcommittees and working groups
