Welcome to Term 4! With an exciting jam packed month ahead, we want to start by sharing a recent session from Creative Club - our primary after-school group.

At the end of last term, Creative Club had a spontaneous and expressive session for R U OK day. It started with free play and a few different interests which then grew into a wonderful collaborative performance. Isaiah took to the drums, air-drumming along to Nirvana and Foo Fighters songs he’s been learning, while Charlie, Anika, Sonam and Harriet dressed up, twirling and leaping through the space with flowing material. Behind the scenes, Seb and Nirmoy took charge of the lighting. They set up torches around the room to spotlight the performers. Sometimes, all it takes is a few dress-ups and the creative freedom to see where an idea might lead.

This month, our Futuremakes are calling for young artists to submit artwork for an visual art exhibition in December. There is an awesome prize pool up for grabs and submissions are open to all levels of experience. Find out more

On Thursday 22 October, 100 Story Building will join the ranks of other amazing arts and creative organisations for AusArt Day - a nationwide, sector-wide fundraising initiative and we would love our community to pledge their support!

We are hosting the next free Story Hubs Forum for educators wanting to bring more creativity into their classrooms. Join us on Wednesday 28 October at 100 Story Building for an afternoon of creativity, connection and learning.

We say ‘benvenuto a casa’ to our CEO Lena Cirillo who has returned from a month in Italy. Lena managed to squeeze in visit to Fronte del Borgo, Turin, which is also part of The International Alliance of Youth Writing Centres. You can read more about the visit on our website.

And finally with the Early Harvest book coming out next month, we warmly invite you to join us to celebrate at the book launch of Otherwise: A Mapping of Miscellaneous Worlds by Curious Young Writers in November at Bunjil Place Library. Reserve your spot at the launch here.
