100 Story Studio: Sally Rippin

Join award-winning children's author Sally Rippin for a fun and practical writing workshop for those who are writing for children aged 6-12 years. Discover what it takes to hook your young reader in, keep them turning the pages and make them fall in love with your characters. Find out how to write with authenticity by remembering who you were as a child, and make sure you target the right age-group for the story you want to tell.This workshop is aimed at early to emerging writers.

About the presenter:

Sally Rippin was born in Darwin and grew up in South-East Asia. As an adolescent she studied traditional Chinese painting for three years in Shanghai and Hangzhou. Now Sally lives in Melbourne, where she is an award-winning writer and illustrator of books for children of all ages. She has had over fifty children’s books published, most recently the popular Billie B Brown series, the Hey Jack! series,  Angel Creekand the Lina books in the Our Australian Girl series. Sally travels regularly throughout Australia to speak at schools and festivals and has recently had residencies in Beijing, Singapore, Shanghai and Ghana.sallyrippin.com
