Blak to the Future

This year, Footscray Community Arts Centre partnered with 100 Story Building to extend the reach of their 'Blak To The Future' exhibition. The exhibition was curated and created by young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists; focussing on decolonising Narrm and celebrating a future that is blak, bright, young and deadly.100 Story Building co-designed a workshop that allowed the young curators Rosie Kalina and Hannah Morphy-Walsh to lead students from Mount Alexander and St Monica's Primary School through the exhibition. During the two hour sessions, students learned about the individual artworks, the artistic vision of the curators bringing the pieces together and got to reflect and explore their own experiences of the exhibition. This is the first year of a three year partnership of this kind between FCAC and 100 Story Building.
